What do you do if you are involved in a raid – either at your own home or if one of the collectives you are a member of is raided?
You can get the answer to that at the 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 MAPP meeting when Don Duncan, founder and Executive Board Member of ASA, will present:
Raid Preparedness Workshop.
The DEA and local law enforcement agencies in the Inland Empire continue to raid medical cannabis providers, even if their conduct is legal under state law. Medical cannabis patients and providers need to prepare themselves, both mentally and operationally, for a raid until federal law is harmonized with state law and state laws are fully implemented.
To help the community prepare, Americans for Safe Access has been holding a series of Raid Preparedness Training workshops. Don will lead the discussion at the July 6 MAPP meeting on issues surrounding any raids conducted by local or federal police. The training will cover how to prepare legally, operationally, plan logistically and what to do during and after a raid.
The training will also cover the development of an action plan to organize supporters during and after a raid with A Guide to Raid Preparedness being provided to all in attendance.
Patients, collective operators and supporters are invited to attend and learn about this important issue that is warping law enforcement and endangering patients’ safe access to medicinal marijuana. Let your friends know about this meeting and if you are a member of a collective, encourage the collective’s operators and members to attend as well.
