Scott Bledsoe

High all:

My Name is Scott Bledsoe. I have a long history of being involved with medical marijuana from Florida. I served as President of the Statewide Organization, Coalition Advocating Medical Marijuana for two years. I also served as Vice President of Florida Cannabis Action Network for several years which I founded with Kevin Aplin in 1998. I was also on the board of directors for the Floridians For Medical Rights group which attempted to spearhead a medical marijuana initiative in the State.

During my tenure, i organized Hempfests all over the state in an attempt to educate citizens, garner media coverage, and force a change in the policies of several cities regarding medical marijuana.

Our biggest victories however came in the vein of free speech. Living in the bible belt of Florida, we met stiff opposition to even discussing medical marijuana. At several polling locations, our petitioners were harrassed, subjected to physical violence and arrest on a frequent basis.

We went to Federal Court 5 times and were victorious against the cities of Jacksonville Beach, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the Supervisor of Elections.

The hempfest in Jacksonville ran for 7 years, Gainesville ran 10 years.

We also organized the Journey for Justice in Florida and Texas, carrying our message of healing to the street.

I was High Times Freedom Fighter of the month in May of 2000

In 2006, I moved to California to embrace prop 215 and SB420. I located myself in San Bernardino County only to find the same kind of political environment that I left in Florida.

I am hoping to begin a dispensary in the mountains when San Bernardino makes a change in their policy. I am on fire and committed for change. Let's get on board.
