Meet Lanny Swerdlow, RN LNC

Dec. 1999 - Started Inland Empire based Marijuana Anti-Prohibition Project (MAPP) medical marijuana patient support group and law reform organization. Currently holds three monthly meetings in Palm Springs, Riverside and Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree.

October 2006 – March 2008 – Member, Palm Springs Medical Marijuana Task Force – Provided oversight on the drafting of Palm Springs Medical Marijuana Ordinance. Palm Springs is the only city in the Inland Empire to allow collectives to operate under their zoning laws.

September 2006  – July 2007 – Desert Regional Medical Center – Medical/surgical and Cardiac Units

Jan. 2008 – March 2014 - THCF Medical Clinic in Riverside – Office manager, Nurse specialist - Provides qualified patients with medical marijuana physician recommendations.

January 2009 – May 2013 - Member of the Board of Directors and Founder of the Inland Empire Patients Health and Wellness Center in Riverside - a unique medical marijuana collective that operated a farmer’s market as part of its medicinal marijuana distribution system. This is the collective whose case before the California Supreme Court resulted in a ruling allowing cities to ban collectives. The collective is now closed.

July 2012 – Formed Brownie Mary Democratic Club to work within the Democratic Party to support the rights of medical marijuana patients, end marijuana prohibition and stop the War on Drugs. The BMDC is the first cannabis club to be affiliated with a major political party. The club, officially chartered by the Riverside County Democratic Central Committee, looks to expand into every Democratic Central Committee in California and other parts of the United States.

January 2013 – Elected 2-year delegate Calif. State Democratic Convention from 42^nd Assembly Dist.

January 2015 – Re-elected 2-year delegate Calif. State Democratic Convention from 42^nd Assembly Dist.

January 2015 – Appointed with observer status to Lt. Governor Newsom’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Marijuana Regulation and Taxation

September 2015 – elected Chairperson of Brownie Mary Democrats of California – one of only seven statewide organizations chartered by the California Democratic Party

November 2015 - appointed to California Democratic Party Executive Board

June 2016 – elected to Riverside County Democratic Central Committee

May 2018 – Editor of Riverside County Democratic Party Dem News monthly newsletter

November 2018 – Elected to Board of Directors, San Gorgonio Memorial Healthcare District
